Born in her home on Dundee Ave in Chester, MD. She was the daughter of the late Wallace Louis Chance, Sr and Rosemary Loraine (Cosden) Chance.
Darlene filled her time with painting, gardening, volunteering at the Chesapeake bay environmental center and the women of the Shriners. She was also a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church of Grasonville. Darlene loved to travel after her retirement from Maryland State Comptroller's Amended Returns Unit. During her retirement she was a caregiver for Captain Maurice Dashiell, Sr and his wife, who introduced her to her special friend Vernon Stencil. She was a graduate of Queen Anne's County High School, Class of 1970.
In addition to her parents Darlene is preceded by her husband John (Johnny) Edward Nash, Jr.. Darlene is survived by her sons, John Edward Nash, III (Shannon) of Chester and Michael Nash; five grandchildren, Kayla Johnson, Brianna Flemming, Dylan Nash, Christopher Nash and Alana Nash along with one great granddaughter LeiLani Nash; Sibling, Wallace Louis Chance, Jr. (Becky) of Centreville.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 on Tuesday October 7, 2025 at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Chester, where the funeral service will be at 11am on Wednesday October 8, 2025. Burial will be at the Stevensville Cemetery followed by fellowship at the American Legion Post 278, in Stevensville, MD.
In leu of flowers contributions can be made in Darlene's name to the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center (CBEC) P.O. Box 519, 600 Discovery Lane, Grasonville, MD 21638. Bayrestoration.com
