Freda Sterling Obituary

On Saturday, February 13, 2021, Freda "Irene" Sterling, loving wife, and mother, passed away at the Talbot Hospice in Easton, MD. She was 74 years old.

Irene was born August 25, 1946 in Baltimore, MD to Herbert and Freda (Cooper) Floyd. After the sudden death of her father, her mother moved their family to the Eastern Shore of MD. When she was 18 years old, she attended beautician school. She later started working for Dr. Jack Klegar (podiatrist). When he retired, his son (Sheldon) took over the practice and she worked for him until he retired and moved to FL. (about 25 years altogether). She worked as a caregiver for a number of years. She also worked at Clark's Supermarket/Graul's Market for a short time and retired due to health reasons.

Her greatest passion was her family and her dogs. She loved getting together with family and friends for picnics, dinners, etc. Her dogs (Buddy-who passed away last year and Bindy) were always by her side. She also loved to shop, play cards, take trips, and go for rides down country roads and look at the wild animals.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dave Sterling, whom she married July 3, 1986; daughters, Tina Tyler (Gerry) of Tilghman, MD and Paula Bayliss of Federalsburg, MD, son, Milford Warner, Jr. (Kelly) of Easton, MD; grandchildren, Robert "Justin" Harrison (Megan) of Salisbury, MD, Christina "Krissi" Harrison (Matt) of Easton, MD, Skylar Horton of Easton, MD, Jessica Weems (Kevin) of Easton, MD; step-grandchildren; J.T. Tyler (Belinda) of Salisbury, MD, Jeremy Tyler (Mandy) of Snow Hill, MD, her aunt, Ann Robey of Severn, MD; nieces, Teresa Campbell (Todd) of Lexington, NC, Dawn Stewart (Dwayne) of Sherwood, MD and nephew, Chris Floyd of Rhode Island. Also, mother-in-law, Edith Sterling of Easton, MD; sisters-in-law, Vivian Swann (Norman) of Easton, MD, Edie Ross (Brian) of Preston, MD, Theresa Walls of Denton, MD, and Gloria Sterling of Easton, MD; brothers-in-law, Danny Sterling (Patsy) of Federalsburg, MD, and Joe Sterling (Sue) of Easton, MD, also several cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Freda (Cooper) Floyd; brothers, Herbert N. Floyd and Ronald F. Floyd, sister-in-law, Nancy Floyd, her son, Eddie Harrison, grandson, Rickey Stacey, Jr. and step-granddaughter, Mary Francis Tyler.

A private service will be conducted on February 21, 2021 at her home in Easton. Gerry Tyler (son-in-law and lay leader at Tilghman United Methodist Church) will be conducting the services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Talbot Hospice in Easton, MD in memory of Freda Irene Sterling.
