Gary Clair Dunn, 90, of Bozman, MD, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025. Born September 17, 1935 in Patten, Maine, Gary was the son of Harlan Dunn and Charlotte Brady Dunn.
Gary spent his early years in Patten, ME, after which the family relocated to Worcester, MA. Upon graduation from North High School in Worcester, MA, Gary served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in mechanical engineering and began his career with Hercules' Powder Division in Ulster County NY. During his time with Hercules he held various managerial and executive positions both in the U.S. and Europe. After retiring from Hercules he became a part owner of the seafood company Ocean King.
Throughout his many years, various interests included golfing, tennis, reading, traveling, watching sports, and solving the most challenging crossword puzzles. His time spent living on St. Simons Island, GA, in Europe and ultimately Bald Eagle Point Farm in Sherwood, MD, was especially memorable to Gary and his family. Gary enjoyed retelling stories of life in Maine like picking potatoes and stories of his grandfather, Albert Dunn, a lumberman who floated logs down the Penobscot River. It was Gary who gifted daughter-in-law Marian her first Ancestry computer program to work on the family genealogy.
