James Darr Obituary

James "Jimmy" Darr, Jr. of Grasonville, MD died on October 11, 2022. He was 67 years old.

Born on December 4, 1954, in Washington, D.C, he was the son of James Joseph Darr, Sr. and Elizabeth Pauline (Lusby) Darr.

As an avid horse player, Jimmy could often be found at his favorite track, Laurel Park. He was a lifelong fan of all things related to DC sports, with the exception of Daniel Snyder, who he often referred to by names and in terms which cannot be printed here. Along with the health and happiness of his family and friends, he wished for nothing more than for Snyder to sell the Washington Commanders.

In addition to his parents, James is predeceased by his sister, Margaret "Peggy" Sisson.

He is survived by his son, James Darr III and wife Kristin; daughter, Roxanne Darr and partner Rodney; sister, Lorraine Tippett and husband Christopher; grandchildren, Taylor, Brooklyn, Lily, Jocelynn, Owen and Abraham; nephews, Michael Sisson and wife Kim, Christopher Sisson and wife DanaAnn, and Scott Tippett.

A public service will be held at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 106 Shamrock Road, Chester, MD 21619, on November 4, 2022 at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haven Ministries, PO Box 44, Chester, MD 21619, or online at haven-ministries.org.
