Loretta Cable Obituary
Born in Phoenix, Md., on Feb. 15, 1937. The daughter of the late Maurice and Hilda Mae Turnbaugh Lins.
Loretta worked at the Old Vita Foods in Chestertown, as a housekeeper at Washington College and worked several years in Ridgely warehouse. Loretta enjoyed crocheting, and hours a day in the yard, planting flowers and trimming things up.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Gary M. Cable; two brothers, Maurice and Tommy Lins, both of Chestertown; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Addison, Helen Lewis, Eva Mae Merchant; brothers, John W. Lins, Ralph E. Lins and Walter Gordon Lins.
Funeral Services will be held 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, at Pippin Funeral Home Inc., 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, Del., where family and friends may view from 2-4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 248 E. Chestnut Hill Road, Suite 4, Newark, DE 19713.

Loretta was sweet, kind, and peaceful. She always acted like a lady, and was a wonderful example of how to be a Christian woman and wife. She appreciated the simple joys of life, like the beautiful flowers that she grew, the sound of birds singing in her garden, and listening to bluegrass gospel music on a Sunday afternoon at the fire hall. She kept a clean and comfortable home in which friends were always welcome and where everyone who visited received her unconditional love. Knowing Loretta changed my life. She was one of my heroes, and I will always remember her and wish I could be more like her.
