Louise Scott Widdup

1928 - 2025

Louise S. Widdup passed away on September 24, 2025, after battling her CHF for the last few months of her life. Louise was predeceased by her husband, John B. Widdup, and her parents, Charles and Helen Scott.

Louise's journey began on September 23, 1928, in Clarksville, Maryland. She graduated from Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) in 1948 and pursued a career as a professional singer for churches and other local choirs.

After marrying John in 1950, Louise was a resident of Ellicott City until she and John moved to Chestertown in 1979 to enjoy a farm property they had purchased. Five years later John and Louise were among the first residents of Heron Point and enjoyed a second home in Sarasota Florida for many winters of golf and tennis at Palm Aire.

Shortly after John's passing, Louise permanently resided in Heron Point in Chestertown and generously gave to her community and surrounding charities near and dear to Louise.

A Celebration of Louise is scheduled for this Saturday at Heron Point and a graveside service on Monday, October 6th where Louise will be laid to rest next to John in St John's cemetery in Ellicott City.
