Mary Collins Obituary
She was a faithful member and supporter of First United Methodist Church since 1950 where she held may positions, including lay leader, Sunday school teacher, treasurer and trustee.
She is survived by sons Charles Russell Collins and wife Valerie of Secretary and Bruce Leroy Collins of Secretary; daughters in-law Gail Collins and Cathy Collins; grandchildren Carol Emily Hubbard, Jason Lee Collins, Walter Blake Collins, Kristin Dawn Collins, Tiffany Makayla Collins; honorary grandchildren Natalie Jackson and Courtney Hurley; greatgrandchildren Anna Elise Hubbard, Pamela Alice Hubbard, Maggie Carol Hubbard, Blake Andrew Wheatley, Kennedy Rae Collins, and John Walter Collins and her devoted sister and best friend Ann Richardson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Collins; beloved sons Richard "Dickie" Collins and Tommy Collins; sister Sarah Elizabeth "Betty" Marine; brothers James Russell Moore and PFC William E. Moore.
She has devoted her life to family, friends and church which have been the foundation of her life. Her favorite place at home has been in the kitchen making pies to give away.
I ask my family and friends, whom I dearly loved, to remember how special you all have been to me. A very special friend has been Kertie Boschulte, formerly of Secretary. She and I have kept each other encouraged with words by Robert Frost "I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep."
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 12:00PM at First United Church in Secretary where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor Pam Tull-Baynum and Pastor Betsy Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in East New Market Cemetery.
Walt Collins, Jason Collins, Blake Wheatley, Mark Hubbard, Howard Richardson and Will Richardson will serve as pallbearers. Richard Blake, Dave Nickerson, Edward Powell and Harold Robinson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 70, Secretary MD 21664.
Arrangements are in the care of Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market.
