Richard Eason Obituary

Richard Walter Eason died April 24, 2024, at the Talbot Hospice House in Easton, MD, he was 84.

Richard who was known by friends and family as Dick was born in 1939 in Easton, MD to William and Evelyn (Honey) Eason.

Dick attended Easton High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1962 as a First Class Seaman. After his discharge from the Navy, he made his home in Oxford where he was a lifelong resident. Dick was a farmer for most of his life. He, his father and brother, Bill formed a partnership farming in Talbot County. After he retired from farming, he began working on the water as a part time waterman on his boat the Gambler, a name chosen because of his enjoyment of gambling. Dick embraced life on the eastern shore. He enjoyed crabbing, fishing, and he was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed bowling.

In 2002, Dick married Nancy Middleton. They enjoyed 22 wonderful years together.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents, William and Evelyn Eason, and stepdaughter Nichole Hastings. He will be missed by his wife, Nancy, his brother Bill Eason, sisters Joan Hogge, Caroline Stewart and Shirley Johnson, his son, Ritchy Eason (Jennifer), stepchildren Michelle Harding (Greg), William (BJ) Middleton, Jr. (Melissa) and 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
