EASTON - Robert "Robbie" Alexander Cameron, 26, died at his residence on Monday, April 24, 2017. He was born in Winchester, England, on April 1, 1991, son of Norris E. "Chirp" Shannahan and Anne Freestate Shannahan of Easton.
Robbie was a graduate of The Country School and Easton High School where he learned to play the drums and became an avid drummer. He loved boats and, when he was very young, he was often spotted flying around Boone Creek in his skiff and checking in with all his neighbors. He was also a collector of antique outboard motors. One of his proudest achievements was the completion of a three week Outward Bound canoe/camping course in South Carolina. He competed in cross country running and ran in the annual "Run for Hospice" to honor his grandfather who had passed away while at Talbot Hospice. Robbie loved helping people and was known for stopping to help to change a flat tire or jump a dead battery. He was Pizza Man Extraordinaire, driving thousands of miles making deliveries throughout Talbot County.
Robbie was quite the entrepreneur; he loved buying cars and fixing them up in his own automotive shop, "After Hours Auto." He attended car auctions all over Delmarva looking for the perfect car.
In addition to his parents, Robbie is survived by his maternal grandmother, Shirley Freestate of Easton; aunts and uncles: Mark and Diane Freestate of Centreville; Mary Carol and Pete Gregory of Royal Oak; Eleanor Shannahan of Washington, DC; John and Mimi Shannahan of Oxford; Mollie and Art MacAdams of Grasonville; and Patrick and Jennifer Shannahan of Davidsonville. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William M. Freestate.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 30, 1:30 p.m. at Oxford Cemetery.
