Robert Dudley "Dud" Mimms

1949 - 2024

Robert Dudley (Dud) Mimms of Greensboro, Maryland died Tuesday, May 7th in his home surrounded by his beloved family. He was born in Baltimore on April 3, 1949, to Robert and Rosemary Mimms.

Dudley is survived by his siblings, Bonnie Jarrell, Joseph Mimms, Christopher Mimms and Robin Mimms and their Families, his wife, Dianne Mimms; three children, Theresa Bast (Patrick Bast), Heather McDonald (Kevin McDonald) and Jessica Mimms; one grandson, Andrew Mimms; nephews and nieces including, Thomas Davenport, and Tabitha Anderson (Brian Anderson) and great nieces and nephews. He was an incredibly loving Brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and mentor to those around him.

Mr. Mimms was a proud Marine and served in Vietnam. He went on to work as a police officer and carpenter. His greatest joys in life were woodworking, riding his motorcycle, listening to, and playing country and bluegrass music. He also enjoyed joking around.

Memorial service will be held at Fleegle and Helfenbien in Greensboro Maryland on Tuesday, May 14th. Doors for the services will open at 12 PM and the service will begin promptly at 1 PM.
