Thomas Gore Obituary

Thomas Alfred "Butch" Gore, 84, of Easton, MD, peacefully passed away on December 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at his home following a brief illness. Born October 14, 1940, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Thomas L. Gore, and Pearl M. Guiliano. He graduated from Chamberlain Vocational High School, where he met the love of his life, Shirley Mae Tyson. They were married on December 27, 1958, and raised their two children in Charles County, Maryland before retiring to the eastern shore of Maryland in 2004. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1958-1961, primarily in France as part of the 7th Signal Battalion, with the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe. He was a sheet metal worker and HVAC mechanic before joining the federal government, working for several different agencies for 20 years, his last stint with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He loved his family, eating crabs, fishing, playing poker, the Washington Nationals (until they got rid of all their best players), and the Washington Redskins (now the Commanders). Thomas is survived by his daughter Terry of Chester, MD, his son Thomas and daughter-in-law Ruth Anna of Crisfield, MD; four grandchildren, Taryn (Travis), Tommy, Patrick, and Ryan; his brother Joseph Guiliano, sister Nina Guiliano McClanahan, and many other family and friends. His family will always remember him for his ability to make us laugh and how much he loved us all. The family's one solace is that he has been reunited with his one and only love: his beautiful bride, Shirley.

A visitation will be held from 11am-12pm on January 9, 2025, at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home in Easton, MD. A service will follow starting at 12pm. A chapel service will be held at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery on January 27, 2025, beginning at 11:15am.

The family would like to thank Talbot Hospice for the kindness and care they provided for Thomas and his family during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Talbot Hospice, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601 or at TalbotHospice.org.
