Virginia Naugle Obituary

Virginia Rhue Naugle, 91, of Hurlock, died September 11, 2025 at her home. Born July 3, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Herman Anstine Rhue and Eunice Todd Rhue.

She worked for many years in Stanton, Delaware and then in Talbot County as a traveling music teacher. After her retirement, she worked as a substitute teacher in Dorchester County. She was a lifelong member of Unity-Washington United Methodist Church in Hurlock where she was the choir director, head of the Altar Guild, and a member of the Mary Martha Circle.

She is survived by her husband, William A. Naugle; a daughter, Julie Todd of Hurlock; a son, B. Todd Naugle and wife Nicole of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Joshua Naugle, Zane Todd, Andrew Peterson, and Lily Naugle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Barry E. Naugle and a brother, Herman E. Rhue.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 11:00AM at Unity Washington United Methodist Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor Joseph Hayden and Pastor George Simmons will officiate. Interment will follow in Unity-Washington Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Unity-Washington United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 298, Hurlock MD 21643.

Arrangements are in the care of Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market.
