Arlene Elizabeth Quay
September 27, 1926 - March 31, 2025
On March 31, 2025, the world lost an extraordinary woman, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Arlene Quay passed away from natural causes surrounded by her family, she was 98 years young.
Arlene was born in Buskirk, NY and she spent much of her life in the Schenectady area. Her later years were spent in Union Springs, NY. She was an active member of the Union Springs Seventh Day Adventist church, a devoted Christian and her faith allowed her to accept challenges with strength and grace. She had the innate ability to make any place feel like home and those around her feel welcome. Her love for her family and friends was evident in everything that she did.
Arlene leaves behind her beloved children, Nancy and Thomas Cholette, Bonnie Quay and James and Debra Quay; her grandchildren, Carrie Weaver, Annie Robinson, Emily Quay Hill, Katie Cholette and Molly Soucy; her sisters, Katherine (Kay) Voehringer and Helen (Honey) Turnbull; her great-grandchildren, Colby Weaver, William Robinson, Kinleigh Weaver, Henry Soucy and Elizabeth Robinson.
Arlene was blessed with a large family and was preceded by her parents, Beatrice and William Wielt Sr.; her brothers, Warren, Raymond, Donald, Alvin, Royal (Bucky), Robert (Dr Bob), William Jr (Crow), Lawrence (Mickey) and Richard (Butchy); and her sisters, Kathleen and Carol. There are countless family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory. She is dearly loved, admired and respected by so many.
