Doris Charlton Obituary
Doris L. Charlton of Chester, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 9, 2021. Nothing will fill the void felt by her family.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorotha Virginia Geier, her father, Michael Geier, and her brother, Carl Geier.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Vincent R. Charlton, Jr., her brothers, Michael Geier, Paul Geier, and Patrick Geier of California, brother John Geier of Nevada, and sister Betty Remhild, also of California.
She also leaves behind three children: Vincent M Charlton (Marie) of Culpeper, Sharon L. Adams (James) of Chester, and Ginger I. Murphy (Jim) of Winchester; seven grandchildren: Ashley, Rebecca, Tiffani, Joshua, Daniel, Gabrielle and Victoria, and ten great grandchildren with one on the way.
Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married her high school sweetheart, Vincent, in 1955 and they have been by each other's side ever since. Their life is a true love story to be shared with generations to come.
In her younger years, Doris was the secretary of Charlton Ridge Homes Inc. for fifteen years. She loved to go bowling every Thursday with a league she was in. She was involved in the Lioness Club for many years and loved to do ceramics. Her friends and relatives knew her best for her cooking talents! No one could make potato salad like her among other things, and her spice cake and egg nog pie. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and they were able to take an abundance of trips.
In lieu of flowers, they family asks that donations be made in Doris's name to the National Kidney Foundation. Online condolences may be expressed at moserfuneralhome.com. A visitation will be on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 3-5pm at Moser Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10am, Monday, May 17th, 2021 at Moser Funeral Home. A burial will follow at National Memorial Park, Falls Church at 12pm.
