Mary Frye Obituary
Mary Joan (Brakowiecki) Frye, 59, of Culpeper, Va., went to be with Our Lord on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
Joan was a beloved wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother. She was a former volunteer firefighter and later enjoyed a long and wonderful career at A.G. Richardson Elementary where she was universally adored. To know Joannie was to be her friend.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bill; son, William (Elisabeth); daughter, Sarah; grandchildren, Oriana, Finn, and Felix; parents, Laurence and Jean Brakowiecki; brother, Joseph Brakowiecki (Julie) and their daughters, Lauren Lubbers (Alex), Sophia, Rachel, and Kacie. Joan was also a treasured great aunt to Coulter, Wyatt, Willow, and Emelia.
The family will receive family and friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Precious Blood Catholic Church, 114 E. Edmonton St., Culpeper, VA 22701.
Please join the family for a small reception following the funeral service for light refreshments in the parish hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.

Many years ago, my grandmother Louise Hatcher, was neighbors with Joannie and Bill on Birch Drive. I remember going over and having my first ever snickerdoodle. Not only did I try them, Joannie let me and her children sit on the kitchen floor rolling the dough balls in cinnamon sugar. It´s a sweet memory I have always cherished.
