William Lewis "Billy" Settle

William Lewis "Billy" Settle, 69, of Culpeper, passed away at his residence Saturday, March 3, 2007 surrounded by his family. Born in Brandy Station on September 16, 1937 to the late James Wayman Settle and Robbie Hill Settle, Billy worked for Merchant's Grocery for 42 years in Culpeper. He was a member of the American Legion Post 2524 and served in the U.S. Air Force. Surviving Billy are his wife and companion for 47 years, Betty Jean Settle of Culpeper; one daughter, Debria Jean Hunley and her husband, Daniel of Culpeper; two granddaughters, Danielle Marie Hunley and Taylor Leigh Hunley, both of Culpeper; three sisters, Dorothy Pullen and her husband, Eddie of Charlottesville, Jean Corbin of Culpeper, and Alice Jenkins of Culpeper; and four nephews; David Corbin, Randy Corbin, William Hale, all of Culpeper and Donald Pullen of Charlottesville. His parents preceded him in death. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 5, at CloreEnglish Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Hwy., Culpeper. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, at the funeral home with Rev. Randy Albritton officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 2524 Honor Guard and American Legion Post 330 Honor Guard, both of Culpeper. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers are David and Randy Corbin, Butch Mills, Greg and Eric Butler and Donald Pullen. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
