Joseph A. Morgan June 29, 1943-January 27, 2024 Joseph A. (Joe) Morgan, age 80, of Kimball, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Kimball. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Pastor Vonnie Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Kimball Cemetery. Joe was born June 29, 1943, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Floyd and Norene (Wade) Morgan. He first attended school in Oklahoma, then his family moved to Kimball and he graduated from Kimball County High School in Kimball, Nebraska, in 1962. He married Sharlet Kiefer (daughter of Orville and Faye Kiefer) on February 13, 1963, and together they had two sons, Blane and Eric, and a daughter, Stacy. He lived most of his life in the Kimball area. Joe worked hard all his life to provide for his family and he didn't have much down time. Joe worked mostly in the oil field, first at Eatmon Well Service and Evertson Well Service, then he owned and operated his own business, Morgan Well Service, Inc., for eighteen years. For a time, he also drove over-the-road, worked road construction, and hauled oil for Plains Transportation, before finally retiring at age 75. He and Sharlet owned many rentals in the Kimball area and he did most of the maintenance work on those homes. He enjoyed designing and building metal structures from oilfield pipe, and loved visiting with family and friends. Survivors include his wife Sharlet Morgan of Kimball, son Eric (Duke) and wife Josi Morgan of Kimball, daughter Stacy Adams and granddaughter Avry Adams of Lansdale, PA, sister Wanda Madden of Kimball and many nieces and nephews, as well as loving friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Blane Morgan and his parents.
