LeRoy Teigen Obituary

Dr. LeRoy Dean Teigen, formally of Scottsbluff, left this life on May 7, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Lee, or Doc, as he was called by his friends and relatives will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. The burial will be at the Rio Grande Valley Veterans State Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Green Gate Community Center. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Comfort House of McAllen, Texas. Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission.
Lee was born March 12, 1937 to Leon and Dorothy Teigen in Detroit Lakes, Minn. Lee was a veteran of the Korean Conflict as a Navy Hospital Corpsman 2nd class. He graduated from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Minneapolis, Minn., in 1962 and opened his practice in Scottsbluff, where he practiced for 40 years.
Lee was a member of Tehama Shiners, Hastings, Neb.; he was a Past Master of Lodge 265 A F and A M of Scottsbluff, a lifetime member of the National Quarter Horse Association and a member of the Scottsbluff Elks Club. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, Valley of Alliance, Orient of Nebraska and the AOPA Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
Dr. Teigen retired in 2002 when he and his wife joined the family of full-time motorhomers. They traveled the United States for three years then finding a home in the Rio Grande Valley, at Green Gate Grove in Mission, Texas.
He was survived by his wife Charlotte of Mission, Texas, daughter Taryn of Denver, Colo., son Todd (Noell) of Yuma, Ariz., sister Dotty (John) Holden of Burnsville, Minn., five grandchildren, Jayme Smith, Kendra and Corey Teigen, Rachael and Ryan Parch, brother-in-law Kevin (Miriam) Cartwright of Vandalia, Mich., and many nieces and nephews.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Tracy Woodard.

Our deepest sympathy. I've been keeping in touch with Dotty. Judy and I visisted her and John. We reminisced about our High School years and growing up in Detroit Lakes. He was my best friend growing up and will be greatly missed.
