Maria was born on November 26, 1927, in Detroit, MI, to Manuel and Manuela (Sanchez) Lopez. Everyone knew Maria as "Josie". Her education was limited; she spent most of her years working at Sedgwick County Nursing Home as a housekeeper before retirement. She was one of the most valued employees and received many compliments on her work.
Later in life, she married "Avelino" Magana on the 13th of January 2012. They resided in Julesburg, CO. Her faith was important to her, and she attended St Anthony's Catholic Church in Julesburg. She was well known in her community.
She enjoyed embroidery, quilting, crocheting, and cooking. She loved soccer and assisted her husband at practices and games. At different times, she resided in Scottsbluff, NE, Julesburg, and Greeley, CO. At the time of her death, she resided at Life Care Center of Greeley. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and grandkids. She will be remembered for her great cooking, hospitality, and gifting sentimental items to her grandkids.
