Max Herrera Obituary
Our beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, Max Charles Delgado Herrera Jr. (38, of Belton Missouri) was born on January 25, 1987. In the tender embraced of his family he was received into god's radiant presence of light and love on October 21, 2025. Max was born to Max and Cheryl (Gabaldon) Delgado. After the passing of his mother, Max, along with his brother John Paul, were lovingly raised in their maternal grandparent's home with their Uncle John Gabaldon playing a prominent and inspirational role in their upbringing.
Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Max was an alumnus of Valley High School where he graduated in 2005 with honors. A dedicated athlete, Max found joy and friendship through his involvement in golf, football and baseball throughout his high school career. Max went on to serve in the Army National Guard. During his service he earned his qualification as a Combat Medic or formally known as a "68W". Continuing his service as an Army Reservist, he began his career in the Insurance Industry. He steadily climbed the ladder and became an expert in his field and earned several distinguished titles and awards for his commitment and excellence. He was a loving provider and caregiver always putting others before himself. Max worked hard to support those he loved and did so quietly with strength and compassion. His selflessness and devotion reflected the true meaning of family and faith.
Max lived to have fun with the family and friends he loved most - making memories, sharing laughter, and cherishing every moment with his people. His joy for life was contagious, and his ability to bring everyone together will never be forgotten. Some of Max's favorite times were spent surrounded by those he loved, doing the things that made him happiest. He loved anything outdoors, especially golfing, camping, kayaking, and cheering on his beloved Denver Broncos. Among friends, he was known as a dartboard champion. Recently, Max discovered a new passion for NASCAR after attending a few races with his nephew from Nebraska. He created countless precious memories with loved ones from near and far, even as far as Germany. Music was the rhythm of Max's heart. After being gifted his father's guitar, he made it his goal to learn to play. He had a smooth and gentle voice to accompany his strumming, and when he wasn't playing, he was often dancing or singing karaoke. In quiet moments, Max found peace in expressing his creativity through painting and his love of art. During stressful times, he could often be found taking a relaxing stroll through a park, surrounding himself with the calm beauty of nature with his beloved dogs Dante and Destin. And of course, we can't forget how very handsome Max was, a true "silver fox" with endless charm and charisma. He was always dressed to the nines and on point for every occasion.
Max's time on earth was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments that touched the lives of everyone who knew him. His big heart, sharp humor, and unwavering loyalty made him someone you could always count on, whether for a laugh, a helping hand, or simply his presence. He was deeply devoted to his family, who were his greatest joy. His light will continue to shine through the memories we hold and the love he shared so freely. Though our hearts ache with his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is at peace and reunited with the family and friends who went before him. Max's journey continues in a place filled with love, light, and peace.
His legacy is continued through the lives of his brother John Paul and his children Ariel and Vivian, Uncle / Big brother John and Auntie Colleen Gabaldon, and Beau, Sisters Jennifer Lander Enter (Natalia) children Dennis and Alesia, Victoria Casillas (Eric) children Emanuel, Mireya, Andres and Emma, Aurora Linz (Orlando) children Camilla, and Malia, Kathleen Herrera children Gionni and Olivia. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Raymundo and Barbara Gabaldon and his parents Max Herrera and Cheryl Gabaldon.
Max will be dearly missed and forever loved by all who were blessed to know him.
