Melba Keller Obituary

Melba I. Keller, 79, of Gering, died Monday, Feb. 5, at the Heritage Estates in Gering. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Jones Mortuary in Mitchell with Dr. Charles Richardson officiating. Interment will be at the Mitchell Valley Cemetery.
Friends who wish may call at the Mortuary Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon. Memorials have been established to Prairie Haven Hospice and the Festival of Hope.
Melba was born Dec. 3, 1927, in Mitchell to John Milton "Milt" and Laura Leora (Jones) Baughman where she grew up and received her education. She married Harold Keller Aug. 12, 1951, in Mitchell.
She was a member of the Federated Church in Mitchell, and loved to quilt, crochet, and cook.
Survivors include her daughters, Kodie (Rick) Markheim of Gering, and Detta (Kevin) Hickox of Scottsbluff; grandchildren, Brian (Jodi) Markheim of Scottsbluff, Justin (Katie) Markheim of Kimball, and Aaron Hickox of Fort Collins, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Paxton and Peyton Markheim of Scottsbluff; and brother, Bennie (Lois) Baughman of Mitchell.
Her parents, her husband, and her brother Dale Baughman preceded her in death.
