Patricia Duncan Obituary

Patricia Duncan December 7, 1942-December 19, 2022 This is a story about Patti (Deines) Duncan. Patti was a sassy, spunky, and stubborn woman that was dearly loved and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a warrior and exuded such strength in all the adversity she faced in life, giving her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchild someone to truly admire. Her family will always remember her as someone who believed that when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Maybe she was just a little too tough for this old world, so she moved on to the next place. Patti enjoyed many things in her life: growing up on a ranch in Nebraska, she loved riding her horse, Champ, golfing with friends and family, riding her stationary bike, and challenging family members to beat her steps every day. Spending time with family and friends brought her such joy. The only equivalence of that joy was brought by spending time with her animals. Taking the dogs on walks with her husband, Ken, and feeding them treats and peppermints made for a good day in Patti's eyes. Her beloved Kitty was rescued from a busy street in Scottsbluff and never left her sideunless visitors came over, as Kitty only let Patti near her. She shared many fond memories with those in the community of Wheatland and many great bonds were forged while she worked at the bank there for many years. Patti proudly told her grandchildren every birthday that she was "still 29" and she certainly had a youthful spirit. With her, you never had to guess where you stood. She was blunt, honest, and loving. She always made time for friends and family and put together the best holiday dinners. She was a MASTER at hiding Easter baskets from her grandkids, finding just the right Christmas gifts, and somehow always knowing what to say. Patti will live on in the hearts of all her family and friends as she touched so many lives. Per Patti's requests, there will be no service or memorial. She insisted that those who love her should instead spend more quality time with their loved ones and hold them all closer. Her wish was to be cremated and her ashes spread. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Cheyenne Humane Society/Animal Rescue. If you'd like to make a donation you may do so directly to 800 Southwest Dr, Cheyenne, WY 82007. Patti leaves behind daughters, Shelly and Susan; son-in-law, Matthew; grandchildren, Tricia, Madeline and Tyler, McKenzie and Jim, Eli and great-grandchild, Adeline. Gorman Funeral Homes Platte Chapel are in charge of the arrangements. Condolences can be left for the family at www.gormanfh.com
