Renata Lila (Eskam) Svanda December 29, 1933- November 16, 2022 Renata Lila (Eskam) Svanda, age 88, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022 in Ogallala, Nebraska. She was born December 29, 1933 in Minatare, Nebraska to Fredrick & Eva (Wegelin) Eskam. Renata graduated Gering High School before attending the University of Nebraska - Lincoln where she met her husband, Don. They were married on July 7, 1957, & had 2 children, Cauleen & Jay. Eventually they moved to Ogallala & opened up Don's Pharmacy which they ran until they retired. After retiring they moved to Gering, living on her family's farm. They were married for 47 years before his passing in 2005. In 2020, Renata moved back to Ogallala. Renata enjoyed working in her garden and doing family genealogy. She was proud of her German-Russian heritage and had membership in the Germans from Russia Heritage Society. Renata faithfully read the bible & she & Don were members of the First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. She was preceded in death by her husband Don; parents Fredrick & Eva; sisters Alyce & Elinor and brother Ernest. Renata is survived by her children, Cauleen (Peter) & Jay (Cyndi); grandchildren, Nicole, Caprice, Trenton, Tiffany (Randy), Kayla & Kyle; great grandchildren, Hayden & Kinsley. Memorial services will be held Friday, November 25 at 10:00 a.m. at the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel in Ogallala. Reception immediately following. Rev. Curt Magelky officiating.
