Ruby J. Keller

Ruby J. Keller, 92, of Gering, Nebraska, died Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Heritage Estates in Gering. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Visitation will be held one hour before service time at the church. Memorials may be made to Salem Congregational Church. The service will be livestreamed and recorded to Ruby's obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.

Ruby was born on October 14, 1933, to Herman and Pauline (Schmick) Frank in Mitchell, Nebraska. She graduated from Scottsbluff High School before furthering her education at Barnes Business School in Denver, Colorado.

Ruby married Gerold "Jerry" Keller on December 5, 1954, and four sons were born to this union: Scott, Kevin, Mike, and Brad.

Ruby was a hard-working and devoted farm wife. She drove beet truck and cooked all the harvest meals. She always ensured each of her sons had their favorites in their lunch pail.

Ruby was an avid golfer and participated in the morning league at Monument Shadows Golf Course in Gering for many years. She also enjoyed watching Husker volleyball with friends and family. Her regular appointments at the beauty salon were always a highlight for her. Ruby was a lifetime member of Salem Congregational Church, where she volunteered her time in various activities and groups. She was active in the Friendly Circle and bible study groups.

It was her natural nature to put everyone before herself. Family was always first, and she especially cherished her beloved grandchildren. Ruby was the planner of the family and joyfully hosted family holiday dinners and celebrations. She had a special bond with her younger sister, Dorothy, exchanging phone calls numerous times daily throughout the years.

Survivors include her children, Scott Keller of Tustin, CA, Kevin (Lisa) Keller, Mike Keller and Brad (Janie) Keller all of Mitchell; grandchildren, Nathan and Colton of Mitchell, Kyle (Lindsey) of Lincoln, and Kinsey (Brandon) of Bluffton, SC; step-grandchildren, Dianne of Scottsbluff, Erica of Rockport, IL, Jennifer of Scottsbluff and Yoda of Houston, TX; three great grandchildren; numerous step-great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Steele of Scottsbluff, Debbie Potts of Ft. Collins, CO, and Cheryl (Jim) Petrig of Lincoln, NE; brother, Rick (Irma) Frank of McLean, VA; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Pete and Maria Keller; husband, Gerold; brother, Roger Frank; sisters, Marion Wood and Peggy Frank; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Steele, Ruben, Ed, Elmer, Leo, and Melvin Keller; and sisters-in-law, Connie Frank, Gladys Nelson, and Gladys, Helen, and Pat Keller.

Ruby was my dearest client for over 40 years. I looked forward to our visits every week. We went through good times a bad together. I felt closer to Ruby than most of my family. What a dear lady. Love and hugs to her family.
