I have this memory of Adrian. I was not more than ten or eleven years old. Adrian and I were riding on top of a fully loaded hay wagon. The tractor took us over a rut that jostled the load, as the hay shifted below us I began to fall. Adrian dove toward me and hauled me back atop the load.
There we sat smiling and laughing, it was easy to feel kindly toward him. I that moment. He had a magnetism that pulled you into his orbit.
Hartley farms was a magical place to a boy like me. It seemed a kingdom. Adrian was its prince. Its a youthful romantic memory. Still it is mine, and I'm fond of it.
My condolences to you all. I'm sure there is iced tea in the shade, at the edge of the field
