Betty Morales Obituary
Betty Maria Morales, 84, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, in Madison, New Jersey, with her devoted daughter Sussie Catherine by her side. Born on May 21, 1941, in Riobamba, Ecuador, she was the daughter of Felix German and Julia Victoria (Palacios) Cabezas.
The second of eight siblings in a close-knit family, Betty eventually met and married Jaime Enrique. Together they built a life rooted in dedication and resilience, first in Brooklyn, New York-where they welcomed four children-and later in Dover, New Jersey, where they raised their family.
A loving homemaker, Betty's home radiated warmth. She delighted in singing while cooking, baking treats for loved ones, reading, and knitting. Her door was always open to family arriving from Ecuador as she helped them adjust to life in the United States.
Betty worked as a glass inspector at Thatcher Glass in Wharton before pursuing her passion for beauty at Wilfred Academy Beauty School, becoming a licensed beautician. Later in life, she embraced continued learning at Dover Business College to study computer skills.
Since 1984, Betty was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Dover. She found joy in serving others-visiting fellow members, singing in the choir with her dear Relief Society sisters, and preparing meals for missionaries from around the world. Her steadfast love and nurturing spirit were the heart of her family through every triumph and challenge.
In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Jaime Enrique Morales, and her brothers Manuel and Enrique. She is survived by her children: Jimmy (Susan), Carlos (Mary), Jessica (Henry), and Sussie Catherine; and her grandchildren Austin Nieves, Andrew Nieves, Matthew Morales, and Adam Nieves.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 47 Bassett Hwy, Dover, NJ. A burial procession will follow on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m., led by Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S Main St., Wharton.
Betty will be remembered for her enduring faith, generous heart, and the deep love she shared with all who knew her.
