Dawn always said that this was her favorite job. The Dawn Rich Award was established after her retirement and is awarded annually to a fifth grade student. She had been very active in Bradford as a volunteer for many civic committees and organizations and was recently honored as an outstanding citizen. Dawn always enjoyed being around children and loved working in the schools. She also loved dancing, swimming laps at Colby Sawyer and especially spending time with her family and friends. Dawn and Marvin were married 69 years before his death in 2019. She was also predeceased by her parents and her sister Joan Scala. My sympathy goes to the Rich family, her son was always the best to met her needs, her daughters 'close' on the phone and computer. I hope the family knows how much Dawn was a part of our family at the Woodcrest. She always had so much warmth and smiles even through her pain.

So true, Dawn has memories in my heart.
God bless you all.

ANN PAGE AND I SEND OUR LOVE TO YOU AS WE ALL SAY A FOND FAREWELL TO DAWNIE. SHE WAS MY RIGHT HAND AT CHURCH: ACOLYTE SUPERB, CHALICE BEARER, VESTRY MEMBER, AND SHOWING UP FOR EVERY ACTIVITY LET ALONE SENDING BIRTHDAY CARDS TO US WITH ALL OF HER FEELINGS UNDERLINED. MARVIN WAS SUCH A GOOD MATCH FOR HER AND THEREFORE SHE SHOWED THAT "RICH GOODNESS" TO EVERYBODY. I'LL NEVER FORGET DRIVING DOWN MAIN ST. TO FIND A BANNER SAYING THAT IT WAS "DAWN RICH DAY." I SILENTLY REPLIED, "EVERY DAY IS DAWN RICH DAY."

Dawn made the Elementary School in Bradford into a family. She always had kind and encouraging words for everyone she met. Dawn loved the staff, parents, and students, and always helped everyone feel welcomed in our school. Dawn knew the right words to help people feel better. Her caring ways made me become a better person. I still smile every time I hear her voice in my head calling me her Bradford son. Thank you for being my friend and mentor.

My Mom was the crossing guard by Madison Avenue school and we lived on Madison Avenue. Dear Rich Family, Your parents were so respected by everyone they came in contact with over the years in Irvington. Always ready to help someone. Looks as if that didn´t change once they moved away. Very sorry for your loss.

Dawn (and certainly Marv) was my friend. Marv and Dawn attended our wedding just a couple of years ago where Dawn stood in as my "Mother". I could not have been more honored. Dawn, as we all know, is an incredibly sweet human being. Talk about a person who made good use of this life!! The world is NOT a better place today.
