Traveled the U.S. and world several times over with her beloved Jane Phelps, 74, died on Thanksgiving, November 25, 2021, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Fred; children, Sarah and Adam; grandkids, Duncan, Sadie, Rex and Teddy; siblings, Fred, Doris and Mitchell; nephews, Mike, David, Paul, Tim, Noah, Ethan; and niece, Jessica. Born June 20, 1947, in New York City, Jane graduated from Lehman College in 1969, and later earned a Master's degree from Montclair State University. She worked in management at AT&T for many years, and later became a professor of speech and communication at Bergen Community College. She traveled the U.S. and the world with Fred several times over, visiting 59 countries, and had plans to visit many more. A private service for family and close friends of Jane will be held on Sunday, November 28, at 10:30am, at Halpin-Bitecola funeral home. Virtual services will be held at 11:00am. The family will be receiving visitors at their home from 4 to 7pm, Sunday, and from 5 to 8pm, Monday. I was very saddened to learn of Jane's passing. I worked with her at BCC where she directed two of my plays. She was a most professional teacher and a warm and personable individual. My sympathies to her family.
