John Joseph Hargadon

John Joseph Hargadon, 88, of North Caldwell, N.J., died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013. A Mass will be held Monday, Jan. 21, at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame Church, North Caldwell, N.J. followed by the interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J. Visiting was held yesterday at the Dancy Funeral Home, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, N.J Born in County Sligo, Ireland, Mr. Hargadon lived in Newark, N.J., before moving to North Caldwell, N.J., in 1972. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for many years with the Operating Engineers Local 825 before retiring. Mr. Hargadon was an active parishioner at Notre Dame Church. He was the beloved husband to the late Nancy (nee Meehan); devoted father of Carol Coughlin and her husband, Bill, of West Caldwell, N.J.; Stephen Hargadon of Hackettstown, N.J., and Mary Treible of Rockaway, N.J., and cherished grandfather of Kerry, Jonathan, Ryan, Katie, Kyle, Tyler, Shannon and Brandon. He is also survived by a brother, Patrick, and sisters, Betty and Kathleen, all of Ireland.
