Hello,
We wanted to let your family and friends know that we are sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Luke C. Yepsen US Marine Lance Corporal.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.

One day i may be able to contact you. Right now i still don't think im ready. I gave sandra a letter to give you mrs yepsen. I hope you know i meant every word I said. I miss Luke terribly and wish like hell he was still here today. One Dec. 14 ill be there at his grave but for now my hands still shake at the thought of all of this. I hope to have the strength to meet yall someday.

Dear Shelia, Gary and Kyle,
I would like to pay tribute to Luke again today this being Veteran's Day.
I knew Luke from Henderson's TaeKwonDo briefly prior to his enlistment into the Marine Corps.
Luke was a fine young man, my family and I appreciate his taking on the task of providing security for the free world.
We loved him and miss him as well, like each of you we look forward to meeting again in Heaven, we look forward to seeing him standing proudly at the gates, he was afterall a Marine's Marine!
Thank you for raising such a fine young individual, we continue to pray for each of you and other's who have lost loved ones on a daily basis.

I never had the opportunity to meet this young man on this side of Heaven, but from all that was shared at the unit memorial service held in Iraq, he must have been one special young man. There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

My thoughts and words cannot express adequately the sorrow I feel for you, Luke's brother and his fiancee. You are and will always be in my prayers. My son, LCpl Blake Gilroy was with Luke on that day. Blake, Sean and Luke were very good friends and please know that both Blake and Sean grieve for Luke greatly. My husband and I had the priviledge of meeting your hero and spending several hours with him in early October as we drove Blake and Luke back to the base from LAX. I have some photos that I will send on to you in the near future.

I did not know Luke, but my cousin David Reyes passed away on the 18th of December and I wanted to give you my condolences and tell you how sorry I am. I've been having a terrible time excepting someone so special is gone from this earth but when I saw Luke's picture and story, it made me feel better to know that he's with someone who is also very special.
They just met together with the Lord and are now celebrating Jesus's birthday together. These guys will be greatly missed. But one day we'll be with them again.

I did not know your son or ever had the pleasure of meeting him, but feel I have know him for a long time. I was on a business trip when your son was loaded on the plane A lone Marine in full dress was seated next me for the final trip from Philly to Houston. I found out more about your son in three hours and was truly touched and honored at the reception at the airport. My thoughts my prayers are with the family on this fine young man. Thank you for my freedom!

I work at St. Luke's and while I didn't know you personally, as a fellow St. Luke's family member and a mom with a son in the military, I feel a bond with you.
