My condolences to the family. I was so sad to recently learn of Phils passing. He was a special friend and my Jersey Homey. I admired him as a Family man. A brother at Fort Monmouth, NJ -1977. He introduced me to Shaquille when he was seven years old and I knew basketball would be in both of their futures. A legacy of love, hard work and success!

I just read these stories about Sergeant Harrison. I was stationed in Germany during Reforger. All I can say, is he must have been quite a man. It must be one of the reasons, Shaquille turned out so well.

Just found out about the passing of Sgt. Harrison!! We were in BNCOC together in Ft. Lee VA. Will never forget him! He was the class clown and a great individual. I was one of the physical fitness instructors and i will never forget this particular moment.. He said to me Sarge I am old and I need to sit in the shade for a minute. Naturally I obliged. He never spoke ill of anyone and was very liked by all in our BNCOC class, I still have our class pic!! And he also said Shaq would be great one day. A prediction that came through. We will always have a connection Sarge, Sept 10 is my bday!!
RIP SARGE!!!!!

And to the family of this wonderful man, I off my love and prayers to this amazing family.

My deepest condolences to the family members of my best friend while stationed in Wildflecken, Germany 1983 to 1986. We were in the same unit, same platoon and both our families lived on A Street, a few houses from each other. I often think of numerous barbecues and the many good times we had together. When I recently found out that God had called Big Phil home I was deeply sadden, we would live in the same tent for 45 days during REFORGERs and be assigned to the same vehicle, him driving and me reading the map to deliver chow to our soldiers. Big Phil was hard charging, commanded respect, and absolutely the best Supply Sergeant the Army has known, his skill set was second to none. I am so sorry that we lost track of each other but I will never forget him and Lucille and the many great family cook outs we had. Your friendship made being in Wildflecken a much better experience and before I knew it, the three years were up. I know some of the kids might not remember me, but I would like to which you all (Lucille, Shaquille, Jamal, Lateifah and Ayesha) a long and prosperous life, may God bless you all.

I can still picture Mr Phil sitting in Mr Mingo's office telling me to call parents to get permission to take kids on a trip. He decked us out in Shaqpac t-shirts n hats. The smiles he brought to so many and the "realness" he spoke in conversations are very memorable. Mr Phil rest peacefully in Heaven. I will always remember your big smiles, big heart and generosity. Family continue to pray for peace, comfort, strength and understanding. Love y'all to pieces.

Mr. Harrison,
You were a passionate man about youth sports when I was growing up with your kids. I remember waiting around to play while you and the refs hashed it out and that was when you weren't the coach. Those are good memories and will stick with me forever.

Coach! My 1st coach. I learned so many great principles for success through you. I learned how to play the game and how to handle adversity in real life. I learned to work harder then everyone else if I want it. There is no giving up. I'm a better man because of the words spoken by you at such a young age in my life. Thank you! I will never ever forget the influence you had on my life.

Rest in Peace to one of the most influential men I've been able to have in my life. Words can't describe how much of a impact you had on my life. You always treated me like one of your own and always made sure I was taken care of. You were more than a father figure to me than you will ever know. I just wish I could thank you for all you have done for me, the exposure you gave me as a kid was priceless and I'm trying to mirror that leadership to my own kids. Love you so much Uncle Phil, there will never be anyone who can fill your presence.
On love

I am saddened by the news of your death. We had some really great times in Weisbaden and Wildflecken. Two units E Troop 1/0 Cav and HHC 1/68 Armor. We made a lot of fun people and worked tirelessly together. I probably wouldn't have made E6 without your help. You will be missed, but I have the memory of you Made a and the kids.

It's been over a year now since you passed, Daddy and I think about you often. I dream about you, I hum the songs that you would hum, and many of the songs that you played when we were growing up make me think about you when I hear them. I wish you were here with me, but I know that you are where you're suppose to be now. Just know that we're okay, and I know you are too. I love you.
