Businessman who always put his family and friends first
Robert W. "Bob" Foley, 86, of Basking Ridge, N.J., went to his eternal rest on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lois Ann, his children, Robert Jr. (Marie), Linda (John), Richard (Donna), Maureen (Anthony). He was the beloved grandfather of nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Bob was a businessman and owner of Lutz's Pork Store in Union, N.J., for 50 years. After retirement in 1995, Bob pursued a second act at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home in Basking Ridge, fulfilling a lifelong fascination with the funeral business.
Bob was beloved by all who knew him. Nicknamed the "Mayor of the Barron's," Bob was a kindhearted, gentle, loving person who always put his family and friends first. Known for his sense of humor, great faith and overwhelming desire to lend a helping hand, he will be gravely missed by all.
Please join us in celebrating Bob's beautiful life. The Foley family welcomes friends to visitation at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge 07920 on Sunday, March 15, 2020, from 2 to 5 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Church, 184 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge 07920 on Monday, March 16, 2020, at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Bernards Township PBA 357 in Bob's name for their compassionate and tireless efforts of medical and emergency assistance over the years.
