YMCA executive, family man, longtime Livingston resident Walter Carl Goldt, Jr. died on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown. He was 89. Born in Orange, he lived in Livingston for 38 years before moving to Heath Village in Hackettstown three years ago. Mr. Goldt was an Executive with the Greater New York YMCA Management Resource Center in New York, NY. Mr. Goldt was very artistic; he enjoyed woodworking, stained glass making, painting and drawing. He was also a member of the Heath Village Art Club. He was predeceased by his beloved wife: Norma S. Goldt, of nearly 65 years on June 1, 2021. He is survived by two daughters: Karen E. (Peter) Gennaro and Dorianne A. (Douglas) Jerman; four grandchildren: Alice E. Jerman, Meredith C. Gennaro, John C. Jerman and Gregory D. Gennaro. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, September 25th from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home, 31 Main Street, Netcong. Inurnment will be held privately at German Valley Cemetery in Long Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Goldt's name to: American Heart Assn.
