GAYE THOMASSON Obituary

THOMASSON

Gaye Thomasson

1948-2021

The world has lost a brilliant, precious point of light. Gaye G. Thomasson, 73, left us to be with the Lord on May 4, 2021 in Austin, Texas. Gaye was born in Greenville, Texas to Charley and Jo Gililland on April 21, 1948. She was raised in Richardson where she and her family joined the First United Methodist Church Richardson. She graduated from Richardson High School before attending the University of Texas at Austin where she received her B.S. in Elementary Education. She loved children and taught elementary school for many years before becoming a full-time mother to two sons, her family settling in Plano, Texas. Later she became the office manager for two dental practices and, most recently, a CPA firm in Plano.

She is survived by her husband of 52+ years, Larry Thomasson, her two sons, Lance and wife Jessica of Plano, Texas; and Andrew and wife Shana of Bastrop, Texas; and her grandchildren, Mason, Taylor and Maggie, as well as her brothers John Gililland and wife Lori of McKinney, Texas and Judson Gililland of Richardson, Texas. She was a source of constant encouragement, an uplifting influence on everyone she knew, and was loved by everyone she touched. Her legacy is vast; her loss is immeasurable.
