JOANN WEBB Obituary

WEBB

February 28, 1940 -

September 16, 2025

EDMOND - JoAnn Webb, affectionately known as Grammy, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025.

JoAnn was born on February 28, 1940 in Pampa, Texas, to Sidney Leonard Patterson and Dorothy Virginia Harris. Due to Sidney's naval career, the family moved to Imperial, California before moving permanently to Norman, Oklahoma. JoAnn graduated from Norman High School in 1957 where she was a proud Norman Tiger and she remained close to her classmates throughout the years.

After graduation from Norman High, JoAnn earned her Bachelor's of Science in Business Education from the University of Oklahoma in 1961. While at OU, she was a proud member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority where her sister Lynn, daughter Wendy, and granddaughter Elizabeth (Washington State) would also pledge during their college days. JoAnn was also a lifelong Boomer Sooner sports fan.

On New Year's Eve 1957, JoAnn met Thomas “Tommy” Ray Webb on a blind date with several couples who became lifelong friends. Then on September 2, 1961, JoAnn and Tom were married in Norman and they shared 58 wonderful years together until Tom's passing in March 2020.

Throughout their life, JoAnn and Tom would call several places home, starting with Danbury, Connecticut before eventually moving to Flower Mound, Texas where Tom's career began with American Airlines at the newly opened Dallas/Fort Worth airport. They raised their family in Flower Mound and called it home for over 40 years. During their time in Flower Mound, JoAnn was an active member of the community becoming a founding member of the Women of Flower Mound, joining various clubs, and enjoying her hobbies, including sewing, quilting, collecting fruit jars, and scrapbooking (her favorite). Eventually, they moved back to Norman to be closer to family, and they stayed almost 10 years enjoying their twilight years, before moving back to Flower Mound to be closer to their youngest grandchildren and dear friends.

JoAnn enjoyed traveling with Tom to their favorite places, such as the Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Myrtle Beach for golf trips, and, her favorite, the Alaskan cruise, where she took up white water rafting for the first time at age 58!

JoAnn is preceded in death by her beloved husband Tom, parents Sidney and Dorothy Patterson, and her son Todd Webb. JoAnn is survived by her children, Richard Webb and wife Johanna of Boerne, Texas; Brian Webb of Edmond, Oklahoma; and Wendy McConville and husband Kevin of Edmond, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her brother Pat Patterson and sister Lynn Patterson, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her grandchildren Eva, Jake, Thomas, Elizabeth, Ryan, Miles, Owen, and Tony; great-grandchild Amelia; and her niece Erin Patterson and nephews Duncan and Reilly Burke.

The family would like to thank the generosity and loving care provided by her devoted caregiver and dear friend Brook Rigdon, the staff at Heaven House OKC and Providence Hospice.

JoAnn's warmth, creativity, devotion and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her
