Michael Dean Spearman of McKinney, Texas passed away on November 10, 2016 at the age of 61. He was born on January 20, 1955 to Herbert Dean and Betty (Stanford) Spearman in Dallas, Texas. Michael graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1973. After high school, he briefly attended Dallas County Community College and became a business owner of the Texaco gas station at Highway 75 and 15th street in Plano. Michael then went to work for ARCO on their seismograph crew for several years and later worked for Ford Motor Craft and Nissan before finally retiring after 15 years at UPS as a safety manager. Michael was very active in nonprofit work especially the United Way and Meals on Wheels. He was also involved in training service dogs for K-9 Companies for Independence.

Mike is survived by his wife, Susan Shuttleworth of McKinney; son, Michael Spearman; daughter, D'Anne Gil and husband, Fernando; grandchildren, Garrett Michael Spearman, Ginder Dean Gil, Adelaida Hope Gil; parents, Dean and Betty Spearman; brothers, Russell Spearman and wife, Glenda, Tim Spearman and wife, Denise; sisters, Penny Tracey, Deana Coss; grandmother, Thelma Spearman; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends; and his service dog, Jabba.

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Jeremy Spearman; and grandfather, Ira Oscar Spearman.

Mike was a true family man and had a big heart, especially for his grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 14, 2016 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
