Anderson, Ruth Colleen Saenger “Ruthie” At 97 years of age, Ruth “Nanny” Anderson passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2021. “Ruth Colleen Saenger Anderson” was known by most as Ruthie, by her children as Mom, and by her grandchildren as Nanny. Ruth was born in Washington, D.C. on 6/26/1923. She was married to her best friend Mike “Poppy” Anderson for 60 years when he preceded her in death.

Friends are invited to attend the memorial service at the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Tuesday, 11/2/21 at 2:00.

Ruth lost her mother to cancer when she was five and is now reunited with her. Growing up without a mother, her whole life was spent loving and caring for her children and grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by daughter: Deborah “Andee” Bechtold and her fiancé Michael Lairsen; sons: Howard F. “Andy” and Michael T. “Mike”; grandchildren: Martin Kite-Powell, Capt. Ryan T. Pike and wife Cristin, Tiffany E. Warren and husband Dan, Howard Filbert (JR) Anderson IV,; great grandchildren: Caroline and James Anderson, Finley Ella Pike and Nolan Cress Pike. She was preceded in death by her husband Mike Anderson, daughter Suzanne Kite-Powell and granddaughter Elisabeth Kite-Powell. Ruth was one of the kindest, most giving angels on earth.

In her last days she suffered with tremendous pain and never lost her smile and the twinkle in her eyes when you entered her room. Ruth loved her husband, her family and her friends, all sports but especially her beloved Dallas Cowboys. She is dearly missed at the family business, Anderson's BBQ where she welcomed people for 37 years. We miss her in the physical form; celebrate her reunion in her permanent home with our savior, Jesus Christ. We embrace the constant reminders and memories she built for us over a lifetime. In lieu of flowers consider a donation to Scottish Rite for Children.
