ADA MAE SIMMONS BROWN

SOUTHPORT -- Ada Mae Simmons Brown, 80, of Southport, North Carolina passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010.

Mrs. Brown was born in Southport, North Carolina, May 1, 1930, to the late Alexander "Capt. Sandy" and Cornelia Simmons. Preceding her in death were her husband, Albert C. Brown, Jr., two sons, William "Billy" Williamson and David Randolph "Randy" Williamson, four brothers Rothwell Simmons, Clarence Simmons, John Simmons, and Kenwood Varnam, and a sister Ruth Varnam Watts.

She is survived by a son Roy "Red" Martin of Southport; a daughter Mary Brown Miller and husband Howard Miller of Hampstead; two brothers Herbert Simmons and Murdock Simmons; a granddaughter Tammy Williamson Maggard; three grandsons Kevin Williamson, Tyler Miller and Kyle Miller; and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Monday, October 18, 2010, at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, 2400 Southport-Supply Road, Bolivia, NC, with Reverend Charles Drew officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church Building Fund, 2400 Southport-Supply Road, Bolivia, NC 28422.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ocean Trail Nursing Center and Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the outstanding care they gave during her stay.
