Aimee Houghton Obituary

AIMEE M. HOUGHTON Aimee Mignon Houghton of Wilmington, NC and a long time resident of Newtown, CT, age 100, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27th. She was born on December 10, 1914 in Brooklyn, NY, to William and Amanda Lissy. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, George W. Houghton, and is survived by her three children, William R. Houghton of Martinez, GA, Elizabeth Kiraly of Simpsonville, SC, and James C. Houghton of Wilmington, NC; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Aimee enjoyed a long marriage with George. They shared love, laughter, and a joy of dancing together. She was truly devoted to her family. She was an excellent cook. Her hobbies were knitting and crocheting and earned statewide recognitions for her skills. Mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother - she is truly loved and will be greatly missed. A private memorial service for the family will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Andrews Valley Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Aimee's memory may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
