Old Hickory, TN - Allan Neil Welch passed away peacefully at home on February 23, 2021. He was born on December 28, 1972 in Wilmington and attended John T. Hoggard High School (class of 1991) and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allan Fox Welch and Betty Jo (Hyde) Welch. An avid golfer, Neil enjoyed spending time with friends who shared a love for the game. He worked in the golf industry for more than 20 years, serving on the pro shop staff at Oak Park Country Club in Oak Park, Illinois, and later at Old Hickory Country Club and Riverside Golf in Old Hickory, Tennessee. Through his life, Neil was particularly grateful for the kindness and support of many people that he met through golf, especially Jerry McGraw.

A service of remembrance will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Neil's memory to the Dr. Betty Jo Welch Communications Studies Scholarship at UNC-Wilmington.
