DAVID R. BACKUS Obituary
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Roberta; three children, Tammy (Bill) Falconer, of Baldwinsville, N.Y., David (Diana) Backus of Chapel Hill, N.C. and Melanie (Todd) Finn of Baldwinsville, N.Y., six grandchildren, Eric, Brittany, Bailey, Darren, Ian and Jake and his loving pet companions, Sasha and Dixie.
A memorial service will be held at Pine Valley United Methodist Church, 3788 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, N.C., on Friday September 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. for friends and family.
Contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, 2222 South College Road, Wilmington, N.C. 28403.

I remember Dave from Conquest, he was a good guy, and well liked. I'd always wondered where he ended up. He had the best store the little town of Conquest ever had! Thanks for the memories Dave, and Godspeed to you and thoughts and prayers for your family and friends.
