Desiree Green Obituary
Desiree Nisbet Green, 71, of Birchwood, TN, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2011, after an extended illness. Born January 7, 1940, in Wilmington, N.C. Desiree moved to Chattanooga in 1978. Together with her husband, Donald Nisbet, she started Capricorn, Inc., Under Pressure, Inc., D & D Ranch, and Desi's Quarter Horses.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Bishop and her first husband, Donald Nisbet.
Desiree was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 945 Women's Auxiliary
She is survived by her husband, Troy Green of Birchwood, TN; daughter, Cynthia (Kenny) Drew of Ooltewah, TN, one son, George (Lori) Bowen of Ringgold, GA., three stepdaughters, Robyn Stevenson of Sarnia, Ontario, Shawn Kauffman of Lenoir City, TN, Michelle Green of Chattanooga, one stepson, Steven Green of Chattanooga, four grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, sisters, Barbara Mathis, Bonnie Farr, Betty Rivenbark, all of Wilmington, N.C.
Memorial services will be held 11:30 A.M. Thursday, January 27, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Les Fauntleroy officiating. Entombment will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 P.M. on Wednesday and 10-11:30 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
