INES BERGAMASCO ELLIS Ines Bergamasco Ellis, born March 3, 1925, went home to be with The Lord on September 2, 2017. During WWII, in a little town in Northern Italy, Ines met and fell in love with Robert M. Ellis. He was an Army Soldier from Chadbourn NC. Ines and Robert married and returned to Chadbourn to start their family. There they had 2 boys. Later on, they bought a farm in Acme, NC., where they added 2 girls to complete their family. They worked side by side for over 50 years on their family farm where they still reside. Ines is preceded in death by her mother, Palmira Fontini and Valentino Bergamasco. Ines is survived by her husband of 70 years, Robert Ellis, of the home. Her brother, Adlemo Bergamasco, and sisters Annunciata Battilana and Teresine Bergamasco, all of Italy. Her children, Johnny (Joyce), Bobby (Roxanna), Rosa (Frank), and Margaret, all of Riegelwood. Nieces, Nicla, (Richetto, Silvia, Daniele), Denis (Loris, Laura, Marco), Ermes (Ada, Allesandra, Michela), Cinzia (JonCarlo, Fabio, Valentina), Ezio all of Italy. Eight Grandchildren, Bobby, Timmy, Allen, Chris, Donna, Kandi, Brysen, and Amanda. Fourteen Great-Grandchildren, Zachary, Cassidy, Sydney, Emma, Katie, Summer, Carey, Trey, Hanna, Tiffany, T.J., Samantha, Emily and Alex. Along with working the farm and growing her flowers, she enjoyed singing, dancing, and spending time with her family and many, many friends. She is known in the community for her kind heart and loving ways. She was quick to lend a hand to anyone in need. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Riegelwood with Father Gregorio Fernando Melendez officiating. Interment will follow in the Ellis Family Cemetery in Riegelwood. The family will receive friends 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (one hour prior to the service) at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lower Cape Fear Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
