Jerry Bullard Obituary

Jerry W. Bullard, 72, of Wilmington, died Friday, April 27, 2007, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center. He was born September 22, 1934, in Columbus County, the son of the late Charles Oscar and Ruby Sasser Bullard.

Mr. Bullard was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was also a member of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #532 where he served two terms as Exalted Ruler.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Bullard.

He was a loving father, grandfather, best friend and husband. Survivors include his wonderful wife of 52 years, Ruth Lewis Bullard of the home; two daughters, Tammy B. Strickland and husband, Mark of Wilmington and Josette B. Lee and husband, Neil of Rocky Point; two grandchildren, Brandon B. "Man" Craver of Wilmington and Kristin E. "Boy" Lee of Rocky Point; three brothers, Jackie L. Bullard of Burgaw, Ted L. Bullard and wife, Martha of Charlotte and David O. Bullard and wife, Virginia of Leland; one sister, Juanita B. Menick of Wilmington; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Jerry had fun fishing with his grandson, Brandon and loved going to the beach and playing with his granddaughter, Kristin. He loved his best friends, "Buff" and "Chance" and loved to see his son-in-law, Neil come by and help fix things around the house and mess in the shop.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. The funeral service will be conducted Monday, April 30, 2007, at 11 a.m. at First Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. Paul F. Evans. Burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Mark Bullard, Jason Bullard, Ted Bullard, Michael O'Grady, Kyle "Catfish" Peters and Mark Abrams.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michelle Clancy and her staff at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center for all their love, support, help and comfort, not only for Jerry, but for all of her other patients as well.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center, 1401 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401 or First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2901 Chestnut Street, Wilmington, NC 28405.
