Mack Moore Obituary

Mack Allen Moore Jr., 75, of Carolina Beach, NC, died Monday, June 4, 2007, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Brunswick Co., NC on March 11, 1932, the son of the late Mack Allen Moore, Sr. and Pearl Batson Moore. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Buffy Moore.
Mr. Moore graduated from New Hanover High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. He served on the local and state level of the N.C. Junior Chamber of Commerce District XI and was also the National Director. Mr. Moore was a member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge #40 in Raleigh, NC, a member of the Chickasaw Nations of Indians of Oklahoma and also a past member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board. He was a member of the Sir Walter Raleigh Commission and was a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Raleigh, and organized the first "Miss Goldsboro" beauty pageant. He had retired as a manager with Southern Bell and had lived at Carolina Beach for the past 25 years.
Surviving is his wife, Linda Wood Moore; son, Mack Allen Moore, III and grandson, Luke of Raleigh, NC; two step-sons, Raymond Catina of New York and Paul Catina of West Virginia; two step-daughters, Anne Spector of New York and Toni Catina of Virginia; two step-grandchildren, Kris and Logan of New York; sister, Dorothy Carol Coleman and a brother, Wade Hampton Moore both of Wilmington, NC; also many other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2007, at Jordan's Chapel United Methodist Church in Burgaw by Rev. William H. Pearsall. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in tribute may be made to the Fire and Rescue in Wilmington, 801 Market Street, Wilmington, NC 28401.
