Margaret Merritt Obituary
Wilmington - Margaret Long Merritt, 75, of Wilmington, NC, died Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
She was born in Wilmington on September 7, 1945, the daughter of the late Atwood Vance Long and Elizabeth Odum. Margaret was raised by her late Grandparents, Matthew and Janie Pemberton Walker.
Surviving is her husband, Fred H. Merritt, Jr. and her son, Dr. James R. Merritt and wife Jennifer.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Andrews Valley Chapel with Rev. Patricia DiGuiseppe and Rev. Tal Madison officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

I was so sorry to learn of Margaret’s death. I remember how much I loved singing duets with her at Grace. Her voice was so beautiful. My love and sympathy are with you and your family, Fred, at this very sad time.
