Marjorie Strader Obituary

Mrs. Marjorie Thelma Buckner Strader, 72, of Winston-Salem, passed away January 4, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Buncombe County on June 23, 1934, to the late Merritt and Maude Anderson Buckner. Mrs. Strader was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a graduate of Guilford College. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Strader is survived by her husband, Burley W. Strader; a son, Jeffrey L. Strader and wife Cynthia and grandchildren Stephen Strader and Lauren Strader of Wilmington; a daughter, Laura Strader Bethea and grandchildren Taylor Bethea, Hunter Bethea and Megan Bethea of Kernersville.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2007, at Westminister Gardens, 3601 Whitehurst Rd., Greensboro, NC, with Rev. Francis Smith and Rev. Gary Byrum officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Samaritan Ministries, 1243 Patterson Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27101 or Group Homes of Forsyth, Inc., 526 W. First St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
