Mark was like a grandfather to me, having been married to my grandma for over 10 years. We live in the UK so we only saw Mark once a year, but he made such a huge impact on our lives! We will miss him so much when we visit NC this year, and it will never be the same without him!

Mark was a huge presence in many lives, mine especially, and his families lives. He made his presence felt.
We all loved him very much
As we strive for closure and healing, we are unable to go through the traditional steps of memorializing this great man and a life well lived. I hope you will join me in these next couple of minutes and allow me to share with you the life of this wonderful man. His name is Mark, but I called him Big Papa because he was built like a brick.house. When he hugged you or patted you on the back you had to brace yourself for impact (he did not know his own strength ). He was a native American (Cherokee) and grew up on the reservation for much of his life. When he turned 18, he joined the US Army. He completed two tours in Vietnam and was a POW for almost 8 months. When he returned from Vietnam, he met my sweet mother-in-law they married and raised two strong boys. He loved to fish, hunt and ride his Harley. He was fun, jolly and held very passionate beliefs.and didn't mind sharing his opinions with you, whether you asked or not He was great with his hands and could fix anything.boats, cars, motorcycles, lawn mowers anything with a motor, he loved to tinker. He loved his family and made great sacrifices for his country.for our freedom, and I thank him for his service. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was our dad and he will be greatly missed. Written by Michelle Bryant

It would difficult for anyone to imagine what Mark Bryant meant to me. He was interesting, kind, and the most resilient human being I have ever known. In many ways, he was a beacon of light especially during turbulent times. He will be miss by me.
