Our condolences go to the families. My dad Harry Smith was a first cousin to Jerry. Marshall and I enjoyed playing together in Wilmington when they worked at the shipyard.

Marshall and I were old friends and although we lost touch over the years I have so many wonderful memories of the good times and conversations we shared. He was a sweet guy and my heart goes out to Cindy, his kids, Robin and Zorie and of course Dan.
I know he will be greatly missed.

Memories are a wonderful thing, the memories I have of Marshall are as well. I will never forget the smile, the incrediable walk he had, the long hair and glasses setting him aside from everyone else But it was his heart that did it, he carried a kind heart and will be missed. I called him my friend ,proudly....Sherry Watkins Arnold - Castle Hayne, NC

My sympathy goes out to Marshall's wife, Children and his sisters.
I remember Marshall as a really neat kid that had the beach and surfing on his mind always. I was a friend of Robin and met him through her. I will remember him as the happy go-lucky kid that I knew many years ago.

It's been many years since I last saw Marshall - he's forever a teenager in my mind with long hair, glasses and a great smile. I remember the great times over at Dan's house at Wrightsville Beach.

Bless you. Marshall gave me a music box that played "To Dream the Impossible Dream" on my 21st birthday. He was a dear friend to my husband and me 40 years age at Carolina Beach.
