Michael Maley Obituary

MR. MICHAEL JOHN MALEY

Mr. Michael John Maley, 51, of Wilmington, died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at the home of his mother in Winston-Salem.

He was born April 2, 1957, in Easton, PA, to Joseph Vincent and Ellen Donegan Maley. He was preceded in death by his father.

Mike was employed as a driver for Port City Taxi. He was very well liked by his regular taxi customers. He was a 1975 graduate of R. J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem and attended Forsyth Tech and Cape Fear Community College. A natural athlete, Mike excelled in all sports and was on many high school teams. He adored and was adored by his many nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his mother of Winston-Salem; four brothers, Edward Maley of Lexington, KY, Joseph Maley of Miami, FL, Thomas Maley of Olney, MD, and Patrick Maley of Columbia, SC; and his former wife Valerie Hawes Maley of Wilmington, NC.

We love you, Michael, and will always miss you. Go rest high on that mountain.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Winston-Salem.
